Allie Karshenas, CLDir (ASCP), SS/BB, PhD - Associate Professor at the Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy Department of West Virginia University, Associate Vice President of Clinical Research Operations and Institutional Advancement, and Director of the West Virginia Clinical and Pharmacologic Research Center (CPRC), a Contract Research Organization (CRO) nested within the WVU-Research Corporation. Dr. Karshenas leads a large organization of clinical researchers deploying a variety of services to Pharma companies for their Phase I-IV of clinical trials. Additionally he is responsible for the technology and innovation assessments for the Health Sciences Center where he engages with internal and external innovators on their product discoveries and impact to WVU systems and the State of WV.
Dr. Farideh Z. Bischoff, Ph. D., has been the Chief Clinical Development Officer of North America at Silicon Biosystems, S.p.A. since September 15, 2016. Dr. Bischoff served as an Executive Director of Scientific Affairs at Silicon Biosystems, S.p.A. since September 2014 September 15, 2016. Dr. Bischoff served as Vice President of Translational Research & Clinical Development at Biocept, Inc. from 2011 to August 12, 2014 and also served as its Vice President of Translational Research. She served as a Director of Translational Research & Development at Biocept, Inc. since 2007. She served as a full-time Faculty Member in the Department of OB/Gyn at Baylor College of Medicine from 1994 to 2007. She is an expert in clinical and molecular human cytogenetics and is well known in the field of rare fetal cell and fetal DNA recovery in maternal blood for non-invasive prenatal genetic diagnosis. Dr. Bischoff's research has been predominantly translational to clinical testing for non-invasive prenatal genetic testing and more recently cancer screening and surveillance. For over fourteen years, She has focused on the recovery of fetal cells from maternal blood and is a key investigator in the multi-center NIH/NICHD funded study focused on establishment of protocols and investigations into the clinical utility of circulating rare fetal cells. Dr. Bischoff holds a PhD in Cancer Biology from University of Texas Graduate School for Biomedical Sciences (Houston, Texas), with postdoctoral training at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Gustav Komlaga is a Senior lecturer and a researcher in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He holds a PhD degree in Pharmacognosy from KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana, and another in Microbiology from Université Paris-Sud, France. His research interest includes validation of medicinal plants traditionally used to treatment diseases, standardisation of medicinal plants and herbal products, drug discovery with regards to identification of medicinal plants traditionally used to treatment diseases, isolation and characterisation of bioactive compounds form medicinal plants. He has published more than 10 research papers in reputable peer review journals.
Dr Nadia Hussain is an Assistant Professor in Al Ain University of Science and Technology. She has extensive experience in both clinical and academic aspects of her medical profession. She is a passionate educator who has obtained her Masters from University of London and has completed her PhD. She is also a published author and has given various presentations in prestigious regional conferences. Her most recent award has been in the UAE National Research conference 2015 where she won Best paper award in the category of Health Sciences.
Dr. Asit K. Chakraborti had M. Sc. degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal, India in 1977 being placed first in the first class. He received Ph. D. degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from IACS, Kolkata, India in 1985. He had post-doctoral research training in USA in the department of Chemistry, Clemson University, South Carolina, during 1985-1987 and in Medicinal Chemistry in Purdue University, Indiana, USA during 1987-1989. He joined the University of Burdwan as a faculty in the department of Chemistry and served during 1990-1994. He joined the department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER, S. A. S. Nagar, Punjab, India as Assistant Professor in 1994 and was elevated to the position of Assoc. Professor in 1999 and to Professor and Head in 2001. Prof. Chakraborti has guided 33 Ph. D. and 95 Masters students. He has published 149 research papers (with 6230 citation having h index of 48 and i-10 Index 113) and filed 41 patents. He received several awards and recognition such as University Gold Medal, Bardhaman Sammilani Gold Medal, ISMAS Eminent Mass-spectroscopist award, Ranbaxy Research Award in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Research Society of India Bronze Medal. He is the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore and the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. His research interest is synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry with thrust in new drug development in tuberculosis, leishmaniasis and malaria, diabetes, and inflammation to develop NCEs through development of novel synthetic methodologies (catalysis, C-H activation etc.) in compliance with the green chemistry principles.
Dr. D.N. Rao is currently involved in teaching Biochemistry and Immunology to various professional courses. His research interest includes Biochemistry and Immunology of infectious diseases. His citation spans developing peptide based immunogens for vaccine design and immuno-diagnostics for diseases like Malaria, HIV, and Plague. His interest also lies in immunology of leprosy. He has guided a large number of students for Ph.D, M.D. and M.Sc degrees. He has generated extramural research grants from DST, DBT, ICMR, DAE, DRDO, CSIR and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He reviewed large number of manuscripts for peer review in Immunology and Biochemistry published in various international/national journals. He is Officer-in-Charge of both Small Animal and Primate Research Facility. He has attended all the three FIMSA conferences with bursary.

"Tauheed Ishrat completed his Ph.D. Degree (Neuroscience) at the Hamdard University, New Delhi, India. He is currently appointed as a Research Scientist in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy at UGA, Augusta, GA, USA. His research revolves around the importance of vascular protection in the acute stroke period to improve outcome of ischemic stroke. In addition, He is trying to identify tactics for decreasing vascular damage after ischemic stroke in an attempt to develop new therapies for stroke patients."
Born in Cairo, Egypt, (1965), Dr. Amina Mahdy got her bachelor degree of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1988 from Faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University. She worked for the department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University as Demonstrator and Assistant Lecturer till getting her PhD degree in 2002. Together with her husband and 2 children, Dr. Mahdy shifted to the nice and beautiful city, Dubai in October 2005 as she joined Dubai Pharmacy College as Assistant Professor. In 2010, she got the degree of Associate Professor according to rules of the ministry of higher education, UAE. MügeKılıçarslan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1990. She received her M.Sc. degree on Pharmaceutical Technology with her thesis on the studies on the formulation of some drugs conserve in plastic syringes in the same university. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in 1999 on the preparation of multiparticulate oral controlled release dosage form of verapamil HCl in the same department. Her current research interest revolves around microparticulate drug delivery systems, dental drug delivery systems, in situ implants and nanoparticules. Dr Ceyda Tuba Sengel-Turk obtained a PhD degree from Pharmaceutical Technology Department at Ankara University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 2009 and in 2014 she obtained an Assistant Professor degree in the same department. Since 2002 she has been working at Ankara University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. She is an author and co-author of 20 publications and a book. Raffaella Mastrocola has completed her PhD in Molecular and Experimental Pathology in the 2005 at the University of Torino, Italy. She experienced 10 years of research activity holding different positions in several departments of the University of Torino. Her research activity has been focused on the role of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in the development of chronic complications of diabetes and diet-induced metabolic syndrome, contributing to evaluate the potential efficacy of innovative therapeutic strategies. She has published 37 full-length research articles in peer reviewed international journals and has attended as presenter at several international conferences. She is serving as reviewer and as editorial board member for reputed journals.
Dr. Chuanshan Xu (Master degree and PhD, Third Military Medical University, China) is a registered Doctor in China Mainland, and a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Chinese Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained PhD from Third Military Medical University, China. He continued his research career in China Mainland and Hong Kong. Dr. Xu’s research interests are in the areas of nanotechnology, photodynamic therapy, sonodynamic therapy, anti-cancer and anti-infectious medicines, functional food and food safety.
For years, Dr Xu has not only contributed to the education sector, but also professional bodies in China. He has been awarded many grants (including 863 program, NSFC, RGF of Hong Kong, HRMF of Hong Kong) as PI. He is also a member of Chongqing Photonic Association Laser Medicine Professional Committee and the Chongqing Medical Association Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Professional Committee. Aya Youssef received a B.A. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Misr International University (MIU) and am currently a Master Student in Microbiology and Immunology Department Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. I am currently working as a Research Assistant in Medical Molecular Genetics Department at National Research Center (NRC). Prior to working at National Research Center (NRC), I worked as Quality Control Microbiologist for the National Organization for Drug Control and Research (NODCAR). My main Research interest is Human Genetics and Molecular biology. I am engaged in many projects granted from NRC and STDF. I am an active member in a team dedicated in molecular diagnosis of several hereditary blood disorders as aplastic anemia and beta-thalassemia, association studies of several polygenic disorders like type II diabetes.
I have been working as Professor and Principal at University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Acharya Nagarjuna University, India since 2010. I completed 26 years of teaching and research experience. I have been granted two major research projects from UGC and AICTE of worth Rs. 2.6 millions. Six candidates were completed their doctoral research under my guidance and currently eight candidates are carrying out. I have been working as an Assistant Professor since August 2012 in University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, India. I have a total work experience of 6.5 years as Assistant Professor. I have done my masters degree in Pharmaceutics specialization. Now, I am carrying out my research work on biodegradable nanoparticles with improved entrapment efficiency of aqueous soluble drugs and aimed for liver targeting. Besides, I am working on development of new technologies to achieve zero order drug release from oral controlled drug delivery systems and also on development of co-processed excipients.
