Prof.dr.ir. Gustaaf Schoukens was professor of polymer technology at the Ghent University (Belgium), faculty of Engineering, retired since October 1, 2014.
He received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the K.U. Leuven (Belgium) in 1971 where he also obtained his Ph.D. in 1978. The subject of his Ph.D. research was “Non-linear viscoelastic behaviour of dispersions”.
He worked as senior researcher from 1978 till 2004 in the private industry (Solvay; Central Research Laboratory) in the field of polymerization and polymer processing.
In 1994 he obtained the part-time position of lecturer at the Ghent University, teaching “polymer processing”. In 2004 he obtained the fulltime position of professor at the Ghent University teaching all courses concerning polymer technology, including processing and polymerization processes. He is also involved in the courses concerning “environment and sustainable development” in general and teaching the course of “rational use of materials” in particular.
David Morales-Morales obtained his BSc. and MSc. from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and his PhD. from Essex University, England in 1998. After a postdoctoral position at the University of Hawaii, he joined the Institute of Chemistry, UNAM as Associate Researcher. At present, Dr. Morales-Morales is Full Researcher and has obtained the maximum level conferred by the Program of Academic Performance and the National System of Researchers. Dr. Morales-Morales has published more than 80 articles in prestigious academic journals, including three reviews and six chapters in books.
He is also author of a text book on Organometallic Chemistry, published in Spanish, which has obtained more than 1200 citations. Dr. Morales-Morales is a member of the Editorial Board of Referees of Arkivoc and of the International Advisory Board of the journals ChemCatChem (Wiley-VCH Germany), the Open Inorganic Chemistry (Simplex Academic Publishers) and Global Journal of Inorganic Chemistry (Simplex Academic Publishers). He was elected in 2009 member of the International Advisory Board of Homogenous Catalysis Symposia.
Professor Mohammed Sallam is working as professor of Organic Chemistry Faculty of Science , Alexandria University. He got his PhD from Alexandria University, Then He got several Postdoctoral fellowships and Visiting Scientist at Biochemistry Department Purdue University, Medicinal Chemistry, Michigan State University, Medicinal Chemistry ,Ohio State University, Department of Chemistry, University of Trondheim, Norway. He is Board editor at several Journals; J. of Carbohydrate Chemistry, 1983-2000, Green and sustainable Chemistry, GSC , 2011-prewsent, and Vitamins and Minerals Reports ,November 2013- 2014 ( the Journal discontinued).Board editor HSOA Journal of Modern Chemical Science (march 2017-Present). His Major field is Carbohydrates and C-nucleosides and Circular Dichroism spectroscopy.
After his formal education from Agra University, Dr. Kulshreshtha joined the Department of Atomic Energy in 1966 as a trainee officer and after successful completion of one year’s training, joined the Chemistry Division of BARC. During his stay in BARC for almost 40 years, he had mainly worked in the area of chemistry and had used a variety of characterization techniques. He had also been the convener of two National and one international symposium on Materials Chemistry.
He was appointed as Head of Novel Materials and Structural Chemistry Division in 2002. Subsequently, he was promoted as Associate Director of Chemistry Group and Head Chemistry Division. As associate Director, he steered the programs of both Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry Divisions of BARC.
He had a Teaching experience of about 24 years at BARC Training School. He also acted as the Chief Course Coordinator for the entire Chemical Sciences program of Chemistry Trainees of BARC training School. He was awarded a two years fellowship from the German Academy for Research and worked as a Guest Scientist at the University of Erlangen & Nurnberg during 1981-82 at The Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry.
Dr. Kulshreshtha was also appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Studies for Chemical Sciences for the recently created Homi Bhabha National Institute, a deemed university and was also the member of its academic council. Dr. Kulshreshtha also worked as the Senior Professor in this institute.
Post Superannuation, the Department of Atomic Energy has bestowed him with Raja Ramanna Fellowship for five years in recognition of his outstanding contributions in chemistry. He is guest professor at the newly created University of Mumbai and Department of Atomic Energy’s Centre of Excellence for Basic Sciences. Post superannuation, he was also nominated as the chairman of Atomic Energy Education Society, for five years by the department of Atomic Energy.
Bisratewongel Tegegne Alemu done her PhD & MSc. from Analytical Chemistry; Addis Ababa University, she done her BSc. in Applied Chemistry from Haramaya University, she is currently working as teacher in higher education at Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar (Ethiopia). she received certificate of oral presenter on 4th Annual conference of Society of Ethiopian Women in Science and Technology, and workshop on Empowering Women in Leadership Skill in Science and Technology, April 2018. she also received certificate on Environmental Risk Assessment Management from Africa Center of Excellence for Water Management (ACEWM) Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. she won Gold Cup award for being the From Haramaya University, Ethiopia, first from the graduated batch in July 2010
Professor of Health Sciences and Technology. She is currently Coordinator of Applied Research at ERISA- Escola de Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sanches. MSc in Organic Chemistry Technology, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (as academic visitor at Imperial College, London, UK), got Habilitation (2008) at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Lisbon.
She is currently the Head of the Office of Quality, Assessment, Forsight and Training at the public instituite LNEG- National Laboratory for Energy and Geology, and she performs as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Portuguese Food Safety Authority (ASAE) and as national representative at the Emerging Risks Exchange Network (EREN) of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Presently elected the Vice-President of the Portuguese Society on Phytochemistry and Phytotherapy, she is member of the European ESCOP scientific committee. She has more than 100 publications, including patents and her main research interests are Food Safety and Natural Products.
Amer Tarawneh is an Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of chemistry and chemical technology. I completed a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Mississippi at Oxford in 2015. Dr. Tarawneh completed postdoctoral studies at Purdue University in 2016 and joined the faculty at Tafila Technical University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. Dr. Tarawneh research interests are medicinal chemistry, natural products chemistry, organic synthesis, drug design, and dietary supplements.
Professor Falah H. Hussein has received a PhD from Nottingham University (England). He is working now with his research group at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Babylon. His researches now focusing on synthetizing nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes and studying the photocatalytic activity and drug delivery by nanomaterials.
Dr. Inamuddin is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India. He obtained Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) University, Meerut, India, in 2002. He received his Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Applied Chemistry from AMU in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He has extensive research experience in multidisciplinary fields of Analytical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, and Electrochemistry and, more specifically, Renewable Energy and Environment. He has worked under different research projects as project fellow and senior research fellow funded by University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India. He has received Fast Track Young Scientist Award from the Department of Science and Technology, India, to work in the area of bending actuators and artificial muscles. He is running one major research projects funded by Council of Science and Technology, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), India. He has completed three major research projects sanctioned by University Grant Commission, Department of Science and Technology, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India. He has published 72 research articles in international journals of repute and eight book chapters in knowledge-based book editions published by renowned international publishers. He has published five edited books with Springer, United Kingdom, three by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. U.S.A., one by CRC Press Taylor & Francis Asia Pacific and two by Trans Tech Publications Ltd., Switzerland. He is the member of various editorial boards of the journals. He has attended as well as chaired sessions in various international and nation conferences. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow, leading a research team at the Creative Research Initiative Center for Bio-Artificial Muscle, Hanyang University, South Korea, in the field of renewable energy, especially biofuel cells. He has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, in the field of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and computational fluid dynamics of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. He is a life member of the Journal of the Indian Chemical Society. His research interest includes ion exchange materials, sensor for heavy metal ions, biofuel cells, supercapacitors and bending actuators.
Prof Dr., Zizi Abdeen is a professor of petrochemicals in the Egyptian Petroleum Institute, Cairo, Egypt.She has been involved with more than 6 scientific supervisions and has attended about 10 national and international conferences. She has got 27 scientific paper publication and 1 book publication to her name.She is a peer reviewer for 16 international journals and editor of 23 international journals. She is an expert in the field of standardisation and lab management.
He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in 1987. He did his Master Degree in Management (MBA) from IGNOU, New Delhi in 1992. He worked in Ashok Leyland for a period of 20 years in various executive levels from Foreman to Asst. Manager in the Engine Shop. He has rich experience in automotive components manufacturing and assembly. He joined in Hindustan College of Engineering in August 2000 as Senior Lecturer in Automobile Engineering Department and was promoted to Asst. Professor in the year 2004. He promoted as professor and head in July 2007. He is a member of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and IE (Institute of Engineers). He completed Master Degree in Automobile Engineering in MIT, Anna University in 2004. He presented a paper titled “Activating diesel using oxygenated compounds in single cylinder diesel engine” which was a part of his M.E thesis, in the conference proceedings of 7th Asian Pacific International Symposium on Combustion and Energy utilization, conducted by Hongkong Polytechnic University, Hongkong. His paper titled Activating diesel using oxygenated compounds in single cylinder diesel engine” was also published in Hindustan Journal. His research on oxygenated fuels for CI engines led to Ph.D. degree from Anna University in 2010 under the Supervision of Dr. S. Chandrasekran, Professor, Automobile Engineering Department, MIT, Chromepet, Anna University. He published number of papers in national and international journals and conferences. He joined BSAUNIVERSITY as Professor and in May 2014 and heading the Automobile Engineering Department. He is guiding the research scholars in the areas such as Two wheelers ergonomics &dynamics, Analysis of electronics and fuel system for Two wheelers to meet the emission challenges, Automotive Electronics and safety, Fuel modification and Emission control in IC Engine, Exhaust emission control in IC engine, Modification of Intake system for IC engine. Presently he is working as professor from April 2018.
Salah Akkal received his PhD. in Organic Chemistry from University of Constantine, Algeria in 2001. He was supervised 4 M.Sc. Theses and 10 Ph.Ds. He is professor in natural product chemistry since 2007 in Chemistry Department, Faculty of science. He has published more than 99 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute and has been serving as a reviewer for many articles in her specialization. He attended more than 30 International Conferences and five workshops. He teaches the general chemistry and natural product courses for the students of Faculty of Science and Faculty of Technology at University of Constantine, Algeria.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar Kar is currently working as Assistant Professor, Super specialty department of Cardiac Anaesthesiology, Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research,Kolkata, India. He worked as a Clinical Tutor Cardiac Anaesthesiology in Karnani Memorial Hospital, Cardiac Anaesthesiology, India. He has represented India in several world congresses in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care. He has published more than eighty research articles and reviews in high impact international journals. Dr Stepanova heads Peace and Conflict Studies Unit and is a lead researcher at National Research Institute of the World Economy & International Relations (IMEMO), Moscow, and a Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Professor. Her research and publications focus on insurgencies and terrorism, armed conflicts and peace-building, extremist ideologies, radicalization, violent networks, human security, and political economy of conflicts.
Her several books include “Terrorism in Asymmetrical Conflict: Ideological and Structural Aspects” (Oxford University Press, 2008). Her edited volumes include “Humanitarian Challenges, Humanitarian Support and Human Protection in Armed Conflicts” (IMEMO, 2018), “Addressing Terrorism, Violent Extremism and Radicalization: Perspectives from Russia and the United States” (IMEMO, 2017) and “Terrorism: Patterns of Internationalization” (Sage, 2009). She is also the author of 180 other publications in ten languages. She serves on editorial boards of journals “Terrorism and Political Violence”, “Global Responsibility to Protect” and “Global Governance” and edits the journal “Pathways to Peace and Security”.
Prof. Stepanova teaches in English at the International Programs at MGIMO-University (Moscow), School of Public Policy, Russian Academy of National Economy & Public Administration (RANEPA), and European University in Saint-Petersburg (EUSP).
She is a member of the Global Peace Index expert panel, the International Panel of Social Progress (IPSP), and the Joint U.S.-Russia Expert Group on Afghanistan. Octavian Buiu is a graduate of the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest (specialization: Nuclear Materials and Fuels), with a PhD in Atomic and Molecular Physics awarded by the “Babes-Bolyai” University of Cluj in 1998. Octavian has more than 30 years’ experience in research and development, in private and public institutions: R&D Institute for Nuclear Power Reactors, R&D Institute for Electronic Components, Institute of Microtechnology (currently National Institute for R&D in Microtechnologies), and Honeywell Romania (Sensors and Wireless Laboratory) - Romania. Between 1997 and 2007, he worked in United Kingdom as research associate, fellow, and senior fellow at De Montfort University (Leicester) and University of Liverpool (Liverpool). In 2002 he has appointed as Lecturer in Electrical Eng. Department, University of Liverpool. Throughout his career, Octavian served as deputy scientific director at IMT Bucharest (1994-1997), Portfolio Manager and Senior Technology Manager at Honeywell Romania – Advanced Technology (2007-2014 and 2014-2017, respectively). He is co-founder and CEO of BIS INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT, a start-up established in 2017 which is active in the field of consulting for sensors, smart systems, and IoT applications. Octavian has more than 70 papers in ISI journals, as well as more than 100 papers and presentations at National and International Conferences, covering topics related to thin films synthesis and characterization, electronic devices architectures, sensors. He is author and co-author in 20 book chapters and co-author of 23 granted US and EU patents; Octavian is an IEEE and American Vacuum Society member.
When the Hans first saw the Quixtar business, Youngjo was selling textile fabric and Oksoo was an operator of a private Montessori school. Both found their jobs to be stressful and lacking in financial reward.
The Hans immediately saw the Quixtar business opportunity as a way to earn extra income and more control over their hectic schedules. Since starting their business, Oksoo has left her job at the school and both she and Youngjo have discovered rewards beyond the material. Youngjo attributes his more positive attitude and optimistic outlook on life to his Quixtar experience. Oksoo feels that owning a Quixtar business has freed her to spend more time with her family.
